For your security, a 12-hour cooling-off period applies after certain account events. During this time, you can transfer up to S$5,000 worth of digital tokens in total. This applies to all outgoing digital token transfers, including transfers to whitelisted addresses and other StraitsX users.
Fiat withdrawals are not affected by this cooling-off period.
When does it start?
The cooling-off period starts after either of the following events:
Your new StraitsX account is verified and activated.
A newly linked bank account is successfully verified.
How does the S$5,000 limit work?
Cumulative limit: All outgoing digital token transfers count towards the same S$5,000 limit.
Remaining limit: For example, if you have transferred S$3,000, you can transfer up to another S$2,000 during the cooling-off period.
Limit reached: Once the S$5,000 limit is reached, further outgoing digital token transfers are blocked until the cooling-off period ends.
You can still deposit, buy, sell, swap, and receive digital tokens as usual.
When does it end?
The cooling-off period ends automatically after 12 hours. If another qualifying account event occurs during this period, the 12-hour timer starts again. However, any amount already used will still count towards the S$5,000 limit.
For example, if you have already transferred S$3,000, your remaining limit will still be S$2,000 when the timer restarts.
Can Customer Support remove or shorten it?
No. The cooling-off period cannot be removed or shortened by Customer Support. It is a security measure designed to protect your account and will end automatically after the 12-hour period.
