Scammers may create fake LinkedIn or social media profiles pretending to be StraitsX employees. They may also impersonate real employees by copying their names, photographs, job titles, and other publicly available information.
What might it look like?
An impersonator may contact you through LinkedIn or another platform and:
- Claim to work for StraitsX.
- Offer assistance with an account or transaction.
- Ask you to move the conversation to WhatsApp, Telegram, or another messaging service.
- Request personal or account information.
- Send you a link and ask you to log in.
- Ask you to transfer funds or digital assets.
A professional-looking profile alone does not prove that the person contacting you genuinely represents StraitsX.
How can I protect myself?
Do not provide passwords, OTPs, authentication codes, or other sensitive account information through social media.
Be cautious of unsolicited messages claiming to provide account assistance, particularly where the sender asks you to take urgent action or move the conversation to another platform outside of official Support channels.
When in doubt, stop communicating with the individual and contact StraitsX Customer Support through our official channels to verify the request.
