Advisory: USD Transactions During 2026 Chinese New Year Holiday

Modified on Tue, 10 Feb at 10:47 AM

Please be advised that due to the convergence of the weekend period, US Presidents' Day, and the Lunar New Year public holidays, USD transfer in and out will not be processed by our banks during the period of February 14-18, 2026.

To ensure your operations remain smooth, we recommend reviewing the following impact schedule and planning your transactions accordingly.

DateEventBank Operations
14-15 Feb (Sat & Sun)WeekendNon-banking day
16 Feb (Mon)President's DayNon-banking day
17-18 Feb (Tue & Wed)Chinese New YearNon-banking day
19 Feb (Thu)Regular business dayNormal

1. How will my incoming USD deposits be affected?

Any USD deposits initiated between 14 February and 18 February will not be processed by all banks. These funds will only be reflected in your dashboard once banking operations resume on Thursday, 19 February, during standard bank working hours.

2. What about my USD withdrawals?

Outgoing USD withdrawals will be unavailable during this period. Any withdrawal requests submitted after the cut-off on 13 February will be held in the queue and processed starting from 19 February.

3. Why is the processing window closed for five days?

This extended period is due to back-to-back holidays:

  • The US Bank Holiday (16 Feb): Since USD clearing relies on the US Federal Reserve, no USD movement can occur globally on this day.

  • Chinese New Year (17–18 Feb): Local banks in Singapore and regional hubs will be closed for the public holidays.

Recommended Action

To avoid potential liquidity issues or delays in your cash flow:

  • Please arrange all urgent USD withdrawals by 6:00 PM on Friday, 13 February 2026 (UTC+8).
  • Transactions completed before this cut-off will be processed before the holiday break begins.
