How do I fill in the ‘Travel Rule’ Declaration Form?

Modified on Tue, 30 Sep at 12:45 PM

To comply with the Travel Rule (an international anti-money laundering requirement), StraitsX must collect information about the originating party whenever users send or receive virtual assets from another institution.

If you have a pending deposit that requires a Travel Rule declaration, follow the steps below:

Step 1. Open the Pending Deposit

  1. From your StraitsX dashboard, go to "Transaction History" > "Funding" > "Action Needed".
  2. Select the pending deposit and click "Receive Deposit".

Step 2. Confirm if You Are the Originator

  • If you are the sender, select "Yes" when asked Are you the originator of this transaction?.

  • If someone else sent the funds, select "No" and enter the exact full name of the sender as registered on the originating platform, then click "Confirm".

Step 3. Choose the Address Type

  1. If funds came from a Custodial Address (e.g., Binance, Crypto.com, Gemini):
    • Select "Custodial".
    • Choose the platform name from the dropdown.
    • If the platform is not listed, select "Others" and type the platform name manually.

  2. If funds came from a Private (Non-Custodial) Wallet (e.g., MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Ledger):

Step 4. Complete the Declaration

Once submitted, your declaration will be reviewed, and the deposit will be credited to your account if all details match.
