The Financial Action Task Force (“FATF”) in one of its recommendations requires virtual asset service providers (“VASP”) to obtain, hold and exchange information about the originators and beneficiaries of virtual assets transfers which enable VASP to conduct sanctions screening and to detect suspicious transactions.
